What is an endocrinologist?
The endocrinologist is a specialist, whose tasks include diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the endocrine system. Many diseases are asymptomatic, mainly in the beginning, and the first symptoms are often ignored by patients or overlooked.

What kind of diseases does the endocrinologist deal with?
Endocrinologist deals with diseases of the organs that produce chemical substances that regulate the work of our entire body, and are called hormones. Organs of the endocrine system, among others, are:

• Thyroid
• Adrenal glands
• Pituitary gland
• Testicles and ovaries

It depicts how broad is the impact of hormones on our lives, from the sleep pattern to reproductive system.

Dysfunction of the system may involve

• Excessive hormones production - which is called hyperthyroidism
• Insufficient hormones production - which is called hypothyroidism
